Introduction

Hello, my name is Tom Ashton.
I'm a third year Creative Writing student, co-head editor of the creative writing magazine 'The Writer's Quibble' and an aspiring author.
Mostly, I write transgressive fiction with elements of dark humour but i've also been known to write horror, thriller and fantasy. I'm also technically a published poet.
Furthermore, I recently a received a 'First' for a radio script I wrote, which has encouraged me to experiment in different areas.
On this blog you can expect to find my opinion columns, essays and reports as well as poetry and lots of prose.

Please leave me some feedback, in the comment boxes at bottom of each article as it is crucial to me as a writer and therefore greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Introduction

I have a disdain for extraneous material in life, particularly on the internet, for example; 'Just ate the best sandwich ever :)'...

...anyway, I used to have a blog that was filled with my cynical observations on society, relationships and all things life related (you know...worthwhile stuff) but then I started running another blog, on the same Google account, for a student Creative Writing magazine (The Writers Quibble) and, not wanting  The Quibble's more level-headed readers to be put off by my manic ravings, I tried to create a whole new Blogger account but incorrectly imputed my age and it locked me out. This meant I had to delete my precious angry ramblings.

This blog, however, is not supposed to be for ranting. I'm a Creative Writing student, as you might have guessed from 'The Quibble', and my Writing for Radio lecturer told me I should start keeping a professional blog, for employers to look at, which means; no ranting, only boring stuff, EXTRANEOUS MATERIAL...expect to see hidden rants lurking in the prose I upload.

Bob on.

(I feel my first 'professional' post went exceptionally well.)
